2D-PDE's wave equation(waeq)

Hello everybody,

I am working in wave equation(waeq)-classical PDE's of comsol multiphysics. I have a 2D geometry(rectangular) and I want exite one side of this rectangular with a sinus pulse so that I want only this side have displacment in direction y to exite shear waves. for this in direchlet boundry condition h.u=r I define h=1 and r=sin(wt) but I dont know the dependent variable u is then assumed x displacment or y? how could I specify that u would be dispacmnet in x or displacment in y?

Thank you.
