How does COMSOL calculate the norm of the magnetic field?

Hi,

I am using 2D axial symmetry RF module and working with TM electromagnetic wave propagation. I have a problem. When the magnetic field has only one single component (say phi component), the norm of the magnetic field is different from the single component of the magnetic field. Does anyone know how to explain this?

Thanks,
Amir
