Complex Eigenfrequency value

Hi everyone,

I am simulating a kind of resonator and now we want to generate the Eigenfrequency of this device. However, the Eigenfrequency that I get in the simulation is complex numbers! And I have checked that the elastic matrix is positive define matrix, which means it is impossible to generate a complex frequency. So what can I do?

Dear Sheng Ni,

a complex valued frequency is connected to a damping. You can find more information about that in the manual. The quality factor can be calculated from the ratio of real and imaginary part.
