How to add and define the physics for your model. Duration: 14:57When creating a simulation, one of the most important steps you must complete is defining the physics. This includes choosing the appropriate physics for your model, adding physics conditions and constraints, and assigning the physics to geometric entities.
In the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, there are a plethora of physics interfaces available for you to use, enabling you to quickly simulate specific physical phenomena. These interfaces contain all of the underlying equations, material properties, and other settings needed to set up your physics and thus streamline your modeling workflow. Whether you are working on an electrical, structural, fluid flow, chemical, or multiphysics application, the workflow for adding physics to your model remains the same. Please note that the physics interfaces available to you are determined by the modules for which you hold a license.
In this video, we demonstrate how to add and define the physics for a model, using the thermal bracket tutorial model as an example. We show you different ways of accessing the physics interfaces and adding them to your model. We also discuss the benefits of these interfaces and how to find the right one for you, depending on the physics phenomena that you want to simulate.
See our Specification Chart to learn which interfaces are available in the various modules.
