Study of deformations in a piezoelectric actuator. The actuator has a sandwich construction with a central piezoelectric patch and aluminum outer layers. Applying an electric field over the piezoelectric patch induces a shear deformation in the patch, resulting in a rotational and bending movement to the actuator. |
