Where are crosswind and streamline diffusion equations

Hi, when I look at the equations for turbulent k.e. then I can see "helper" variables get defined for upwind diffusion, but I can't see them being used in any equation, nor can I see where the diffusion parameters are being used.
Well, actually, I *can* find them being used in the boundary conditions they get used to build boundary variables sigma_dg_ns and upwind_ns and then those get incorporated in the boundary.
But they don't seem to be in the body of the equations, which confuses me...
Any suggestions? Thanks, John
