Possible to do "Optical Scattering by Gold Nanosphere" in 2D Axisymmetric model?

Hi, I was looking at one of the COMSOL models called "Optical Scattering by Gold Nanosphere" (in the application gallery - Application ID: 14697), which models 1/4th of a sphere in 3D.

I was wondering if it would be possible to model the same geometry, except the entire sphere/circle in 2D axisymmetric model? It seemed like these 2D models are simplifications of cylindrical objects, but not spheres.
