Incremental inductance for coil

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello

I have a 2d axisymmetric air core inductor. I want to check the incremental inductance, i.e. the inductance change vs DC-load current. An AC current source is superimposed to simulate ripple current.

So in my model I need a variable DC current source and a constant AC current source to be flowing in the coils. Is this possible in COMSOL? If so, how should I proceed? Any suggestions? Electrical circuits module?

Thank you for reading
Valdemar

Hi

I suggest that you take a closer look to the chapter describing the harmonic perturbations, i.e. ACDCModuleUsersGuide.pdf page 192 ++
And then check the Model/Application Library for examples there too

Good luck
