Naive question about frequency domain solver

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I'm a complete newbie to comsol multiphysics and trying to learn it.
From my understanding, frequency domain solver means that we treat some "input" as harmonic and solve for that frequency. However, what variable is tagged with the harmonic function?
E.g., in solid mechanics, probably the driving force will be treated as harmonic, but will geometric parameters, density etc. be treated as harmonic as well? For the AC/DC module, is my constant current/background field/Magnetization treated as harmonic?
I guess my question can be summed as: how do I find out which is harmonic and do I have any control? For example, one harmonic current and one constant voltage.
Thanks for any help!
