Gauss quadrature method

I am trying to solve a problem of natural convection in a square cavity .I want to do this using Gaussian quadrature finite element method.I do not how to employ this method in the model.It uses Lagrangian shape function by default.
The boundary condition of the problem are as follows:
A square cavity of length 0.1 m: 2 dimensional
u(x,0)=u(x,0.1)=u(0,y)=u(0.1,y)=0
v(x,0)=v(x,0.1)=v(0,y)=v(0.1,y)=0
T(x,0)=Th;
T(0,y)=T(0.1,y)=Tc, dt/dy(x,0.1)=0
I have done the problem using the default settings and got the temperature distribution in the cavity but while taking the temperature gradient value at the bottom wall, the gradient value increases at the corners with decrease in the size of mesh element. So please suggest me some method to get a smooth solution at the corner region and give me some ideas on how to employ the gaussian quadrature fem in the model.

Thanks in advance.
