Artefact on the periodic boundary

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I am trying to reproduce the results for the structure studied in Phys. Rev. B 85, 245401 (2012). (I have attached the schematic of the plasmonic structure.)

I can obtain a reflection dip around 650 nm as expected, however there are some small unwanted dips in my spectrum. I checked the E-field distribution and I see that there is a strange field confinement on the dielectric sides, which is unusual since I use periodic boundary conditions. I believe this causes some additional reflections, and therefore I cannot obtain a clean spectrum as in the paper. Do you have any suggestions to get rid of the field on the dielectric boundary?

Thank you,
Semih
