ALE or DG in laser melting case

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi Everyone,

I am modelling the laser melting of metals using HT + Laminar Flow modules. I also want to show the fluid flow due to pressure from laser and other external force sources (for the sake of simplicity lets neglect this part). Which of the ALE or DG physics are more suitable in the case. I assume the volume of the melt in not changing, so I expect to see a pile up at the rim when there is pressure acting at the center of the melt pool. Any kind of help is highly appreciated.

Thanks
