lumped parameters - electrostatics

Hi fan of Comsols'

I was trying to calculate Lumped parameters for capacitive elements( more than one electrode) in a system using electrostatic application mode. I have got a problem that I can't assign two or more ports at the same time as input port, is there a possibility of doing that ?

Assigning one capacitive elements( electrode ) as input port I come to calculate the capacitance of that port( the already assigned one) by others ports a NEGATIVE value :((. what does -ve value of capacitance indicate , any interpretation?

best regards

Hi Tewodros,

You should take a look at the manuals. You have one or two examples of lumped parameters at AC/DC User's guide.
I think that you have to calculate all the capacitance values one by one, but I don't remember well right now.

I hope this helps you.
Lidia.

Hi Lidia,

I wanna say thank you very much for your replay. ya as you said the examples in the manual are the reference for me to proceed with the Lumped parameters for the capacitance. The problem I have encountered is that how could I interpret the negative capacitance comsol calculated for me ?
