Material properties

Hi I am student utilizing the 4.3 version of comsol. I having been trying to utilize a material property in an expression to find permittivity and continuously get an error. I have tried multiple ways to reference a material property which includes mat5.sigma. Is this because the parameter is an output parameter, also if this is the case how can I make it an input parameter. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to give to me.

I have V4.4 and it is

comp1.mat2.def.sigma11

in V4.3 you probabaly need to replace comp1 by mod1
