PML touching metals

I need to simulate light going through subwavelength hole in a silver layer.
I use plane-wane background and the whole domain is covered with PMLs.
I think the PMLs are letting the surface plasmons getting through and maybe even enhance them.
Is it because the PML are touching the metal?
