sand ripples simulation

Hi folks,

I am trying to simulate the formation and motion of sand ripples ( sand particles driven with wind). I think that this process may be considered as a two phase flow or a flow of a mixture of sand and air. Specifically, I need to simulate the collision of particles. I have tried particle tracing modules, but the particles do not hit each other- no collision is occurerred. I am also trying the Mixture Model, Laminar Flow Module, and just getting some errors.

I appreciate it if you could share with me your brilliant ideas to help me through the process.

Cheers,
Shayan

Shayan,

Did you figure out how to model particle-particle collision? I'm trying to do almost the same thing you are trying to do.

I'm having the same problems. I've tried this in the MBD and the Particle tracing module and can't seem to get them to collide. they just pass through each other.

Hello,

Does anyone know something about the particles collision simulation? The same problem. Thanks.

Hi there,

I've found a code which may work for particle collision simulation. I am not sure if I can mention its name here. So, please send me private msg for more details.

Thanks,
Shayan
