propagating electromagnetic wave on a surface

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi All,

I'm wondering if there is a possibility to mimic a surface wave propagating by using a very thin waveguide structure rather than utilizing surface plasmons. For example, can we use a thin dielectic slab with certain wall condition (boundary condition) to confine plane wave? How can I excite such thin waveguide structure by plan waves rather than the conventional modes such as TE10 etc.?

Thanks,
Tony
