Boundary Condition at PML

Hi

I am bit confused with the BC for PML. For example I have a resonating disc attached to a substrate. Now The substrate is assumed to be fixed. It's a 2D axisymmetric problem. Substrate is surrounded by PML on 3 sides. When PML is added to the model, do I need to define any BC for PML as it is an added domain? Is there any rule of thumb for the PML scaling factor? Please advise.
