moving object by magnetic field

Hi,

I'm new to COMSOL. I was trying to simulate the motion of a magnetic object due to external magnetic field.
The magnetic field is generated by a single wire, and I can get the magnetic force exerted on the object. But I don't know how to simulation its motion. Shall I use the time dependent study and ALE?

Thank you in advance!

Hi

the electromagnetic physics does not include the "solid" physics so you need to add that, and as you say, if a geometry is moving you need the ALE to get the "air" mesh to follow the motion.

Be sure you put ALE first in the node list, at least BEFORE / Higher up than "Solid"

Good luck
