Ionization of neutral gas due to collision of electrons caused by Thermionic Emission

I am going to simulate a Freeman ion source. The Freeman ion source has a filament as well as a gas inlet. Its working method is that first the gas enters a chamber. Then we heat the filament to emit electrons. As a result of this electron emission and then the collision of the electron with the neutral gas elements, the gas loses an electron and becomes ionized.
I simulated the filament via Thermionic Emission. I also simulated the entry of neutral gas into the chamber through fmf module. But I don't know how to model the impact of these electrons (electrons emitted from the filament) with the neutral gas (and ionization of the neutral gas)?
