The Pressure-wave speed & Shear-wave speed

In Comsol help, I could not find much information for these two parameters.
The Pressure-wave speed (longitudinal wave speed) cp (SI unit: m/s) and the Shear-wave speed (transverse wave speed) cs (SI unit: m/s).

My question:

Does Comsol take the Complex value for these parameters? Because I would like to setup attenuation in the linear elastic model. By setting the complex values on these two parameters, I will have attenuation for Compression wave and shear wave speed.

Thanks.

Hi

I cannot give you any definitive answer, as I do not have that module, but "my way" in such cases is to try a vers simple model (mostly 2D) and try it out, COMSOL accepts many complex input values, as phasors

Good luck
