Heat conduction at boundaries

If I have a 2D model with air at one side and metal on the other side of a boundary, how do I evaluate the total heat flux at this boundary/ to the metal domain?
The line integrated heat conduction is calculated how? Which k-value is used, for air or metal? If a temperature boundary condition is placed on this boundary, how does this effect the flux calculation?
Thank you for all help!
