How to run Heat solver and PDE solver sequentially?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

When simulating the photoacoustic signal of nanoparticle, I try to use the second derivative of temperature (simulated by the Heat Transfer in Solid module) as the driving term of the PDE. The simulation is in 2D, and both the PDE solver and Heat solver should run out in minutes. However, when I put the two solver together and put the temperature term in the PDE solver, the simulation becomes extremely slow. I stopped it after running for hours, and the progress bar barely moved.

I wonder why the simulation become so slow? As the temperature is not influenced by the acoustic field, can I run the two solver sequentially: finish the temperature calculation first, then use the simulated temperature to solve the PDE next?

Thanks, Hanwei
