Thermoelectric generator with a load resistance below internal TEG resistance

Dear Experts,

I have modelled a single thermoelectric generator (TEG) coupling in COMSOL and connected a electrical circuit consisting of a single resistor using 'External I vs. U' coupling. Using a stationary solution, the output electrical potential and current are as expected for resistances above the internal resistance of the TEG.

However, I am unable to converge on a solution when the resistance of the load is below the internal resistance of the TEG. Papers published on the COMSOL website show graphs with resistances all the way down to 0[ohm].

Could anyone recommend a solution. Please find the model (v5.2a).

Kind Regards, David

Update: Using the Fully Coupled mode in the Study option solves this problem.
