Problem with moving mesh in multiphase flow

I'm aiming to simulate the 2 phase flow of a droplet dispersed in a continuous phase flowing down a channel. My end goal is to combine convective mixing within the droplet (circulation from the fluid-fluid interface) and diffusion to get a sense for how long it takes for a droplet to become thoroughly mixed.
I broke my problem down pretty simply to start. Right now I'm working on a 2D system with a droplet starting atthe beginning of the channel and hoping to visualize the velocity field (see the circulation occur) as it flows down the channel. I'm having a problem though as I run the simulation where I get many "inverted mesh element" errors and I haven't found much direction from searching about that error.
The simulation seems to start well but then hits a brick wall (I assume when the first of the errors occurs). Any tips?
