3D meshing - COMSOL v4.0

hey people

I have a general question regarding 3D meshing using COMSOL 4.0:

does 'free tetrahedral' generate ONLY boundary meshing or volumetric meshing as well? I failed to generate volumetric mesh so far, not too sure if I went wrong somewhere in the middle, kindly advise.
