Why segregated approach does not work for laminar flow?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I am trying to simulate laminar flow in simple tube with stationary solver. The default solver is fully coupled and solves pressure and velocity simultaneously. I wanted to check the effect of solving pressure and velocity in segregated approach. However, the residual error occurs while solving it by segregated approach using direct solver for both the steps.

I tried changing the order of pressure and velocity steps. After several iterations, convergence plot shows that the error in pressure is not changing.

Has someone encountered similar problem?

Thanks!

Prajakta
