diffraction in far filed

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello, I am trying to model the propagation of light ( lambda=250 um) in a amplitude grating and calculate diffraction intensity in the far field. There are 3 materials in the structure (mat 1: air, mat2 with n=2 & mat3: an opaque material). The model approximately follows the Plasmonic Wire Grating tutoriaI. I defined periodic port on the top side and floquet periodicity both sides of the model. I have attached the figures of the model.

1) How can I define wall as opaque domains? Which material can I use as an opaque surface? 2) Is it possible that I use far filed domain and put far field calculation on the observer line? 3) How far should be placed "cut line" from grating structure?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
