2D arc motion in magnetic field

Hello everyone,
I'm simulating 2D motion of an arc in a magnetic field. I'm using the Nonisothermal Flow module. I set the source of heat as a function of electrical conductivity (sigma):
Wp = (I0 / intop1 (mat1.def.sigma (T)) ^ 2) * mat1.def.sigma (T), where I0 = const, intop1-integration of the whole region. The material library is the air in the DC discharge module. Using this method increases the calculation time and computer resources, especially for the fine-mesh (1E-4 m).
Are there ways to more rationally set this parameter and increase the calculation speed? Maybe there are other more elegant methods?
