Hi
I am trying to simulate a phononic crystal structure to modify the phonon dispersion relation.
Model details are as follows: Structural mechanics module, Linear elastic module, Plane strain, Floquet periodicity, Anisotropic material, In the first step I simulate holes in the silicon two dimensional plate with edges of the holes having free boundary conditions. Next I want have tungsten filling the hole . I have defined both the materials as linear elastic and given rigid boundary condition at the contact/interface of the two materials . Not putting the rigid boundary condition does not break the model. The purpose of putting tungsten is to introduce mass difference scattering from the inclusions which is expected to open larger gaps in frequency. I am unsure whether the rigid connector will model this correctly. Please help!
