Hi Lasse, this will be possible in V5.3a. You can copy/paste physics between components with different space dimensions and even different sessions of COMSOL. You can also copy an entire component in one session of COMSOL and paste it into a different session:

This will be an easy copy and paste operation in version 5.3a (https://www.comsol.com/events/webinar/More-Modeling-Power-to-You-Introducing-COMSOL-53a-Webinar-39172 ), which will be released shortly.
I can't think of a simple way of doing it in earlier versions.
