2D modeling with coupled Electrostatics and Transport in Diluted Species

Hi,

I am new to the Comsol software and may I ask for some help from you?

I try to model the potential and concentration distributions under electric filed in a 2D model. There are 2 bar electrodes (one positive and the other negative) and for simplicity, I built a 2D Axisymmetric model at first, focusing on the negative side only. In Electrostatics, i assigned the axial symmetry boundary as the ground and applied -0.05V on the ring boundaries of the electrode. For the rest of the domain, I used space charge density to solve the charge transfer. In Transport in Diluted Species, I used 3000 mol/m3 solution and assigned +1 and -1 for the valencies of cations and anions respectively for the mass transport.

Then I ran the model with time dependent solver. However, the simulation results for both the concentration and potential are strange (as you can see from the attached images after 2s simulation). I expected to see some gradients surrounding the electrode but not close to axial symmetry boundary. Could someone kindly let me know if there are some mistakes and give me some advice please? Thanks a lot!

Best wishes,
