In setting section of any mode like laminar flow(spf)-> initial values, there is an option called override and contribution, what is the significance of that option.

Hi,

This section is present in essentially all features in any physics interface, and gives an overview of how this node in the model builder tree interacts with other nodes.

This is explained in detail in the sections "Physics Exclusive and Contributing Node Types" and "Physics Node Status" in COMSOL Multiphysics Reference Manual.
