modelling dichroic optical filter

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello all, I am hoping there is a simple solution to this but I cannot work it out. I am trying to model two dichroic filters (dielectric filters) using the geometric optics interface. I have two lasers (release from grid) incident one the filter. One laser I want to transmit through the back surface and the other I want to reflect off the front surface so they are aligned (and then separated at the second filter).
I have created my geometry and applied a material discontinuity to the optics and selected 'single-layer coating' (Material Discontinuity>Coatings>thin dielectric films on boundary) and filled in the required parameters (n,R, lambda, matched with 'release from grid' and angle of incident for specified film properties.) But they both pass straight through. I have searched about and cannot find anything similar to this issue.

Also, I am wanting on of the lasers to have a 20mm beam diameter. Is there a simple way to do this using the release from grid command?

Thanks for any help.

I have tried attaching my model but cannot even get that to work...
