Modelling Quantum dots

Hi,

I am doing a simulation of quantum dots defined in semiconductor heterostructure GaAs/AlGaAs. It seems to be somewhat nontrivial work since I have to solve self-consistently for how the charges rearrange in the 2DEG given the total number of electrons and applying a negative voltage at the gates above the structure. The problem is that there is no such flexibilty of defining total charge in space and asking how it would rearrange to minimize the total energy in the electrostatics or electric current physics interface. Maybe it would require me to invoke something from the plasma module, but I don't really know how to go about it.

Can someone advise?

Hi,

Did you manage to find the solution to this issue? I have a similar problem relating to 2Degs in plasmonic GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures.
