Normalizing eigenmode

I have a simulation where I'm bringing a metal reflector close to a plasmonic structure and am running the eigenmode analysis to see if the intensity of my desired mode increases. I've been normalizing my simulations by the integral of ENorm over the entire domain. Is that the current way to normalize so that I can compare the various simulations with reflectors are different heights?
Thanks,
Ananda
