There is a Packed Bed reactor model in the Chemical Engineering Model library, in version 3.5a (not sure about 4.0 because haven't used it). You do not have to physically insert 1000 particles in the geometry, there are ways around it; the model file explains it in detail. Use the model documentation to work along with the file.

Could you please tell me about the definition of geometry and implication of two models (mod1 & mod2)?
I think the “general Extrusion” is the critical point that I can’t follow.
I would be grateful if you could introduce me any references through which I understand this intricate modeling.
