meshing infinite element

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi

I have 2 concentric spheres. The outer layer is an infinite element, I am trying to mesh it with swept layers and am getting an error message:"domain must be bounded by one connecting face only"
What am I doing wrong?
The automated meshing for infinite elements gives the same message
thanks for help
David

It sounds like you may have created your IE layer by superimposing 2 spheres, and perhaps not using the correct Boolean operation to cut one from the other.

Have you tried using the "layer" option in the sphere command to create the IE layer? Simply specify the radial thickness of the layer you require.
